WCD Times – Indian navy chief Admiral Sunil Lanba will open up Indian Navy’s new Military base near Indonesia(Malacca) Strait in Andaman & Nicobar Island at Port Blair. The new base will be called as INS Kohassa, the navy said in a statement.

INS Kohassa will be the third Indian base in the island. India has more concern about Chinese Navy ships in the Indian Ocean, in 2014 when Chinese Navy Submarine docked in Sri-Lankan Port, India’s Maritime surveillance has increased to a great extent till now.

By this new Navy base, India to increase more surveillance ships, Aeroplanes in the Malacca Strait. Already China has its influence in Pakistan, Maldives and SriLanka. India to meet Maldives Minister in coming days, as India-Maldives relationship has damaged badly in a couple of years because of Chinese Influence and a former Corrupt leader Yamin.

The New Base will have a runway of 1000 meter long and eventually it will be increased to 3000 meters to land and take Transport Aircrafts and Fighter Jets long with Helicopter landing.
