WCD Times: The former Cricketer and BCCI Selector Kapil Dev led Cricket Committee has decided to go with the Present Head coach Ravi Shastri(for two years) as the new Head coach for Indian Cricket Teams led by Virat Kholi. After the miraculous loss in the Cricket World Cup semi-final in England 2019, Indian coach Shastri was extended a 45-days period of Time as India’s Coach. His time as Head Coach was coming to an End. There were several Former players and Coach were in the race for Indian Head Coach title.
“Number three was Tom Moody, number two was Mike Hesson. Number one is Ravi Shastri as all of you were expecting… (But) It was a very close race,” Kapil said at the press conference.
Indian former players Robin Singh, Lalchand Rajput, New Zealand coach Mike Hesson, Australian Tom Moody, Former West Indies and Afghanistan coach Phil Simmons were all on the Race towards becoming India’s New Head Coach. But Ravi Shastri backed by Virat Kholi, risen up once again to be the Coach of Indian Team. It was not an unknown thing, that Ravi would be the new Coach again. As he did very well as the coach in the past couple of years to say out loud. India went to two World Cup Semi-Finals, India won a series in Australia after 71 years. Became no 1 Test Team & One Day Team, gave No1 Batsman Virat Kholi and No1 Bowler Bumrah, all happened under his Coaching.
